I’m sharing this picture called Summer Salad by Rod Frederick with you for several reasons, but mostly as an avenue for us to get to know each other better.
I’ve owned this painting for many years, and it remains a favorite. The picture is busy, yet makes me feel calm, peaceful…all the good stuff. That’s why it is hanging on the wall, above my bed.
For the first year or so, I kept finding new treasures within it. For example, do you see the dragonfly? Here is an easier one…what about the white crown Sparrow?
This is what I love about being out in the mountains, the meadows, the forest. There is always a treasure, something new every time. The quietness and stillness in nature is my happy place.

Symbolism/ Meaning of a Dragonfly
In almost every part of the world, the Dragonfly symbolizes change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization. The change that is often referred to has its source in mental and emotional maturity and understanding the deeper meaning of life.
Hi Shirley, my happy place to is within nature. Love the peace and tranquillity I find there. It brings a smile to my heart when listening to the birds and chatter, the squirrels scurrying about collecting acorns and such. They make me laugh. The wild flowers and the green lush trees bring me great joy….we live in a very beautiful part of the world and for that I am grateful.
