Crimson Lake Book Discussion

Book Discussion June 7 th., Crimson Lake

Thanks to everyone who came and made the evening so enjoyable. It was a fun night of sharing, caring, and deep discussion. Each of you brought an energy that created a beautiful vibe throughout the evening. ❤️
I was asked to read one of my favourite passages in my book, and I never got around to it so I’m sharing it now.
I chose this letter as I was extremely emotional when I wrote it, ….when I stepped into my character, Walter. I was filled with empathy for what I can only imagine what it was like to go through such horrific times😥❤️

My Own Sweet Stephanie,

I received your letter last night, and as always, was grateful to hear from you. I haven’t written you or Mother for a while now. I see no reason for deceiving you about my last six days.

We moved in the dark and felt confident the Germans never saw us. I was on the front line, knee deep in water- filled trenches. Some degree of surprise was achieved, as we waited and saw them coming toward us. I was living in the seventh hell. We came out of it far better than the Germans. I have written enough for now. For most, it would be unimaginable, and it is best that way. We were replaced by fresh men the night before last. I pray for my comrades to return safely.

My sweetheart, my love, please write to me as often as you can. Hearing from you is what keeps me going. Trust I will return to you, just as I do. Holding onto thoughts of the day I see you again is what makes life worth living.

Please keep your love warm for me. Tonight, as every night, I imagine you are in my arms, and it’s the only way sleep comes.

Your forever love, Walter

CAVE vs HOTEL – YOU DECIDE

Everyone, let’s have some fun with this… Don’t be shy,  no wrong answers,  just sharing and thought-provoking.

The pictures below are of a Cave home just outside of Creel in the Mexican state of Chihuahua where over a dozen family members live.

These pictures are of a hotel in El Fuerte, Sinaloa, Mexico. (Sorry, I only have pictures of the foyer and grounds).

If you had an opportunity to experience either of these places for one day and one night, which one would you choose and why would it be your choice?

Both are free, and the family would be with you in the Cave home, and there would be staff at the hotel.
